Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The enforcement authorities continue their raids in the vegetable and commodities market for the second day amid sky-high prices of items. On Thursday, the special task force team visited Maniktala vegetable market to quiz vegetable vendors and shopkeepers.
Cops from Burtolla Police Station are also accompanying the task force to ensure safety and order. As per reports, following the Maniktala market, the task force will also visit the College Street market. Yesterday, the team visited the Kakurgachi area.
The task force members question vendors about commodity prices and caution traders against unjustified price hikes. Other task force teams also visited markets in districts such as Asansol, Durgapur, Seoraphuli, and Sodpur.
Task force leader Rabindranath Koley interacted with wholesalers regarding vegetable and grain prices, emphasizing the importance of avoiding hoarding and artificial price rises.
